HIRO Diapers

HIRO Diapers are the world’s first truly naturally degradable, high-performing diapers — soft on skin, tough on leaks, and powered by plastic-eating fungi to return to the Earth.

Hi! Welcome to HIRO (pronounced “hero”) and your HIRO’s Journey!

My name is Steph and I’ll be your guide on your journey, so happy to be connected!

Consider me your “Dear Abby” of new mom-ing and I’ll be right here along your entire mom journey! Feel free to write back anytime with questions, concerns, late night sleepless mumbly rants of baby not latching or screaming for no good reason and I’ll most certainly respond (between breast feeds and hormone flashes).

I’m also not one for quick soundbyte-y, short zinger one liner emailing, i’m bringing back longer form letter writing (to you) so you can get out of the hurry mentality and not forget to savor the present moment. The practice of taking long pleasurable breaths as you read this will also help.

I also happen to be 2 months pregnant right now with a 2 year old on my hip so I really, and I mean realllly get what kind of no joke, life changing, one way door, selling-my-selfie-stick-cuz-it’s-no-longer-about-me journey this is.

The beginning of your journey is YOU.
The individual, the childless person...

Likely unrecognizable compared to who you are now: covered in poop and so tired you aren’t sure what day of the week it is.

Then came the stuff, the stuff that comes with a baby. And when we say stuff, we mean STUFF.

Piles of stuff: all mostly made of plastic. Sometimes you stare at it all, wondering where it will all go when your baby grows. You start entertaining scenarios that convince you that you’ll be able to give it all a second life somewhere, somehow. Maybe another kid isn’t off the table, if that’s what it takes to re use that giant plastic activity center?!

The one thing that will never get a second life, though?

All those... damn. Diapers.

The former childless YOU could never conceive of the amount of diapers you’d run through. Suddenly, you’re a mother or a father, and you’re the leader of a household, grappling with the exponential increase in your own trash production.

It’s a hard mirror to look into.
You wonder: How can I do better? Can I cloth diaper?
But then you picture yourself in a gas mask, scrubbing poop out of small nappies, and you shudder at the thought.

Eco-parenting  just seems so hard.

You grapple with the question of how something so cute can make so much trash... not realizing that the new tiny being in your home is actually an untapped fertilizer factory. Their poop has a purpose? SURE DOES.

Suddenly, your dilemma transforms into a solution you could’ve never imagined.

Enter HIRO, Nature’s Favorite Diaper™, equipped with friendly fungi that impressively helps breaks down the diaper once it hits the landfill.

Instead of making trash, you’re transforming it? Whoa..

Not only are HIRO Diapers unbleached and unencumbered by weird chemicals seeping into your baby’s butt, but they work together with fungi to turn you and your baby into Eco Heroes!!

We’re stoked to be on this ride with you, connecting you with like-minded humans and spreading the good word to new paradigm parents who care about the world we’re leaving our kiddos.

XO
Steph from HIRO

Ps. We named our subscription “HIRO’S Journey” after the philosopher Joseph Campbell’s famous Hero’s Journey. It takes courage to answer a call to a new paradigm of parenting where we are opting in to learn about how to become the most thoughtful leaders of our micro-ecosystems - our home.

I’ll be your guide on this journey of awakening - with all of the eco and lifestyle tips, teachings and leadership training you need (all free!) to take your family to a new, even higher consciousness. All jokes aside, I’m right here by your side. possibility.

PPS. Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom. Test one of your HIRO’s Journey is a success!

Tiny Bottoms,
Big Impact
